Northwestern University tax expert to speak at Jan. 8 OpenSky presentation

OpenSky Policy Institute is excited to announce that we’ll host Northwestern University tax policy expert Therese McGuire, Ph.D.  on Wednesday, Jan. 8 – the first day of the 2014 Legislative Session. The presentation will focus on state taxes and economic growth.

Dr. McGuire – a native of Wisner, Neb. and a University of Nebraska-Lincoln alumnus – is an expert in state and local public finance who has written about and worked with various governments on state tax reform and on the impact of taxes on economic growth. As our featured speaker, Dr. McGuire will address the effects of state taxes on economic development.

The presentation will run from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the State Capitol, Room 1023. Space is limited, so participants must RSVP in advance to reserve spot. RSVP online or call OpenSky at 402-438-0382 to reserve a seat.
