OpenSky welcomes new board and staff members

We are very happy to announce additions to our board of directors and staff!

Our two new board members are John Harms of Scottsbluff and Tulani Grundy Meadows of Omaha.

John joins the OpenSky board after just wrapping up an eight-year term in the Nebraska Legislature. While he was in the Unicameral, we had the privilege of working with John as he served on the Legislature’s Performance Audit Committee, Appropriations Committee and the Tax Modernization Committee. Prior to his time in the Legislature, John had a long career in education, which included a 30-year term as president of Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff.

Tulani joins our board as a Political Science and Human Relations Skills faculty at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha. She holds a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Spelman College. Tulani practiced as a litigation attorney for an Atlanta based labor and employment firm and recently she also served as Program Administrator at the Women’s Center for Advancement in Omaha.

We also are excited to welcome Tiffany Seibert Joekel as OpenSky’s Policy Director. Before joining OpenSky, Tiffany worked as an aide in the Nebraska Legislature and as a policy coordinator and researcher in the non-profit sector. Tiffany has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in International Relations from Creighton University in Omaha.

Finally, we’re happy to welcome Chuck Brown back to our staff. Chuck has returned to his role as OpenSky’s Communications Director after taking some time off to write a book about little league baseball parents.

Again, we’re thrilled to announce these additions to our team and believe they all will play vital roles in advancing our mission of improving opportunities for all Nebraskans!
