Tax Modernization Committee releases final report
The Tax Modernization Committee has released its report following its six-month study of the state’s tax code.
The committee worked diligently over the past several months and has come forward with some solid recommendations that would be good policy for Nebraskans.
The recommendations to increase aid to schools and to enact targeted property tax assistance reflect what the committee heard loud and clear from Nebraskans.
We also were glad to see the committee did not recommend income tax cuts as research shows they won’t benefit most Nebraskans, won’t grow our economy and could lead to cuts to education and other key services.
