Schedule posted for our 2016 Fall Policy Symposium!

The schedule has been posted and seats still remain for OpenSky Policy Institute’s 2016 Fall Policy Symposium, which will be held Thursday, Sept. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Nebraska Innovation Campus, 2021 Transformation Drive in Lincoln. The symposium will feature:

  • A keynote presentation by Dr. Timothy Bartik, a renowned economist from the W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research, titled “What Works in Economic Development”;
  • A panel discussion titled, “Tax Reform in Nebraska: Where We’ve Been and What Lies Ahead”;
  • A presentation by Accelerate Nebraska titled “Nebraska’s Career Pipeline and Labor Market: Observations and Challenges”;
  • A presentation about the University of Nebraska’s impact on economic development;
  • A discussion about the Legislature’s Venture Development and Innovation Task Force;
  • A panel discussion about  the Pew-MacArthur Results First Initiative, which helps states and other local governments implement a cost-benefit analysis approach that helps them invest in policies and programs that are proven to work; and
  • A panel discussion titled, “Bringing it All Together – Protecting the Good Life and Building Great Opportunity: Reflections & Lessons for Economic Development.”

Registration is $25 and includes lunch but is free for elected officials, legislative staff, OpenSky donors and members of the media.  Reserve your seat today!
