Outreach and Engagement Manager

OpenSky Policy Institute is seeking an Outreach and Engagement Manager to help build and maintain several coalitions focused on various policy areas, including education finance. This individual will spearhead our community outreach and engagement efforts and support policy work during the legislative session.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years relevant experience
  • Experience or strong interest in campaign outreach and/or organizing, issue advocacy, or a related field
  • Experience working in or with the Nebraska Legislature is preferred

  • Spanish language proficiency preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support and ultimately lead the creation and maintenance of issue-based coalitions aligned around defined policy goals
  • Maintain consistent and streamlined communication with various stakeholders and coalition partners, ensuring accuracy and professional communication standards are consistent
  • Support the policy director in engaging potential and existing stakeholders working in and affected by a variety of issue areas and across a variety of communities
  • Oversee outreach to stakeholders and coalition partners, including organizing and executing community events
  • Support coalition members through responsive communication, addressing any questions, or providing them with campaign materials or information
  • Track, schedule, and coordinate fulfillment of requests for speakers or participation at events and meetings across the state
  • Coordinate with other colleagues as needed to support coalition members and ensure broad, accurate dissemination of campaign resources and messaging
  • Support policy director as needed during the legislative session and other duties as assigned

REPORTS TO: Policy Director

SALARY and BENEFITS: Salary range $55,000 to $65,000. OpenSky provides generous benefits including health insurance, unlimited paid time off, paid sabbatical leave after five years of service, remote and flexible work options, and a retirement plan with 8% match.
