After Nebraska’s Secretary of State certified petition signatures, LB 753, the bill creating private school scholarship tax credits, will be placed on the November 2024 ballot.
Commenting for a story by Nebraska Public Media, OpenSky Executive Director Dr. Rebecca Firestone noted the bill’s tax and school finance implications. “Taxpayers who are ultimately paying for our school systems become responsible for paying both for the public system as well as the private system,” she said. “And there’s just a limited number of dollars out there.”
