Notes about a job opening, ARPA roundtables and a new Fall Symposium date

Would friends and strangers describe you as an extrovert? Are you fluent with words and highly persuasive if you are passionate about something? Do you thrive in an organization that values your ability to build relationships and in a fast-paced environment? Would you describe yourself as fairly organized and a big picture thinker?

If so, this might be the job for you:

OpenSky seeks to hire a Policy and Outreach Coordinator to help coordinate our policy and outreach work. The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to help monitor legislation, write testimony, coordinate meetings and build relationships with policymakers, individuals and organizations throughout the state in order to advance our work.

NAM roundtables to focus on the use of Rescue Plan dollars

The Nonprofit Association of the Midlands invites you to a series of online roundtables regarding the use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. At the roundtables, nonprofits and community members will discuss priorities and develop recommendations for the use of ARPA dollars in Nebraska. The roundtables will build on each other, so it is recommended — but not required — that participants attend all three. The roundtables will be held via Zoom on (all times Central):

  • Monday,  July 26  – 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.;
  • Tuesday, Aug. 3 – 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; and
  • Wednesday, Aug. 11 — 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

These roundtables will give an overall perspective of what is happening with ARPA funds, but most of the time will be spent in small groups around the five areas of need: early childhood, food, health, housing, and workforce.  You can register here. PLEASE NOTE: It is very important that the email you register with is the email you will use to log into Zoom for the sessions.

Fall symposium date changed

OpenSky’s Fall Symposium will now be held on Thursday, Nov. 18 at Innovation Campus in Lincoln. More information about the symposium, including times and program details, will be announced in the coming weeks.
