Barry Thomas joins Racial Equity Advisory Committee; Federal COVID relief to be discussed during today’s NAM forum

OpenSky is excited to announce that Barry Thomas has joined our Racial Equity Advisory Committee!

Barry is the Director of Equity and Diversity at Omaha Public Schools, a position he has held since April 2019. Prior to that he was the OPS Supervisor for Social Studies Instruction for about seven years and before that, he was a teacher in the district for 10 years.

OpenSky’s Racial Equity Advisory Committee is composed of Nebraskans who provide input and guidance to OpenSky in helping understand, analyze and communicate the impact of state policy choices on racial and ethnic equity.

Registration still open for today’s NAM policy forum

During today’s Nonprofit Association of the Midlands virtual policy forum, OpenSky will discuss the federal COVID relief package as well as provide an update on Nebraska’s tax and budget debate.

Registration remains open for the forum, which starts at 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
