A legislative package aimed at taking an axe to property taxes advanced out of committee on Thursday.
Governor Jim Pillen, who has been at advocating for the package since the beginning of the second session of 108th Nebraska Legislature, praised the 7-0 vote to advance it. Pillen called the relief “historic” and “transformational.”
It’s something Revenue Committee members said would be a welcome surprise come pink slip season.
