A tax package up for debate Tuesday in the Nebraska Legislature would expand the state’s turnback tax law to help a possible expansion of convention space at Omaha’s CHI Health Center and the construction of a convention center in downtown Lincoln.

In its story, the Nebraska Examiner notes that LB 727 could cost the state $50 million in revenue over the next two years, taking away funds that could be used for education and other important programs.
