The Nebraska Legislature advanced proposals for a sweeping series of income and property tax cuts, despite critics’ warnings that the cuts will not be sustainable.
The report includes analysis by OpenSky shared by Sen. George Dungan during debate on the income tax cuts. “A family with an annual income of $70,000 could expect to see a $370 tax cut, while a family in the top 20% who makes $365,000 a year would expect to see a savings of about $6,000,” Dungan said.
