Professor Timothy J. Nelson of Princeton University will open the Symposium with a keynote presentation of Injustices and opportunities of place: policies to further the Good Life for all.

Nelson will discuss cutting-edge research used to map the extent of deep socio-economic disadvantage at the county level and share thoughts on why the region of the United States with the greatest degree of socio-economic advantage was the Upper Midwest, including Nebraska.

A series of panel discussions will follow the keynote presentation:

Following the event, Nelson will sign copies of his new book, The Injustice of Place: Uncovering the Legacy of Poverty in America.
