When Frank H. and Nelle Cochrane Woods and their three sons established Woods Charitable Fund in 1941, they set the stage for a long tradition of philanthropic giving in Lincoln, a legacy spanning more than 70 years and seven generations.

“Lincoln had given F.H. and Nelle so much, and they believed you should give something back,” says Donna Woods, board chair for Woods Charitable Fund. “They instilled that same principle in their family, and it’s gone on for generations.”
