Lincoln Journal Star on October 30: Taxation discussion scheduled Thursday

A discussion on “Taxation, Poverty and Middle Class Nebraska” is scheduled for 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 5) at the Unitarian Church of Lincoln, 6300 A St. The program will be sponsored by the Nebraskans for Peace, Lincoln Chapter, the Unitarian Church of Lincoln, and the National Association of Social Workers.

Sen. Mike Gloor, chair of the Legislature’s Revenue Committee, will give a legislative update on the tax discussions under way in the Unicameral and Renee Fry, executive director of OpenSky Policy Institute, will discuss how tax proposals would affect Nebraska’s low- and middle-income families. Discussion leaders will talk about tax reforms that may be proposed during the next legislative session.
