Nebraska.TV on Nov. 7: Farmers and school leaders agree state relies too much on property taxes

Farmers say they’re taking a pay cut, while their taxes seem to keep going up.

A state senator, who’s also a farmer, says it has to change. Sen. Curt Friesen said, “When one of your top three expenses for your product, or your crop, is property taxes — we don’t do this to any other business.”

York Superintendent Mike Lucas says he agrees with farmers who tell him that the state relies too much on property taxes to fund education.
